Both graduate and professional (medical, veterinary, dental, etc.) schools look for candidates with research experience and/or publications in peer-reviewed academic journals. Being an undergraduate research assistant can help you gain that experience or discover an interest in research itself!
Ways undergraduate research assistants can get involved in our lab include (but are not limited to!):
- Literature searches + reviews
- Data collection + working with participants
- Data extraction for systematic reviews
- Assisting with manuscript preparation
